Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps taken by Storage Kingsbury to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains. Storage Kingsbury recognises its responsibility to act ethically and with integrity in all business relationships and to implement effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our business or among our suppliers.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Storage Kingsbury operates storage and related services, working with a range of suppliers including facilities management, security, cleaning, maintenance, equipment, technology providers, and professional services. We understand that risks of modern slavery can exist at various tiers of the supply chain, particularly where services are labour intensive or where sourcing takes place across multiple jurisdictions.
We are committed to working only with suppliers who uphold equivalent standards of ethics, integrity, and respect for human rights, and we aim to build long-term relationships based on transparency and accountability.
Zero-Tolerance Approach to Modern Slavery
Storage Kingsbury has a clear zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking. We will not knowingly engage with any supplier, contractor, or partner that is involved in, or turns a blind eye to, such practices.
This zero-tolerance approach is communicated to all employees and relevant third parties. Any breach or suspected breach of this commitment is treated seriously and may result in the termination of contracts, reporting to relevant authorities, and other appropriate actions.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We expect all suppliers to comply with applicable labour, employment, and human rights legislation and to adopt ethical working practices consistent with our values. As part of our supplier onboarding and ongoing relationship management, we may request information regarding labour practices, recruitment processes, and working conditions.
Storage Kingsbury is developing and implementing a risk-based programme of supplier audits and assessments. This may include reviews of documentation, site visits where appropriate, and targeted questionnaires for higher-risk categories. Where concerns are identified, suppliers will be required to implement corrective actions within a defined timeframe, and continued non-compliance may result in removal from our approved supplier list.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Storage Kingsbury encourages all employees, workers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to report any concerns or suspicions of modern slavery or human trafficking connected to our business or supply chains. Reports may be made to line managers, senior management, or through established internal reporting mechanisms.
We are committed to ensuring that anyone raising a genuine concern is able to do so without fear of retaliation or adverse consequences. Reports will be handled sensitively, investigated promptly, and appropriate remedial action will be taken where necessary.
Training and Awareness
We recognise that the effectiveness of our approach depends on the awareness and vigilance of our people. Storage Kingsbury provides relevant staff with guidance on identifying potential indicators of modern slavery and the steps to take if they have concerns. We aim to incorporate modern slavery awareness into induction and ongoing training for employees in procurement, operations, and site management roles.
Monitoring, Governance, and Annual Review
Responsibility for overseeing Storage Kingsbury's approach to modern slavery rests with senior management, who review the effectiveness of our policies, controls, and supplier oversight. We monitor developments in legislation, best practice, and industry expectations to continually improve our processes.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement will be reviewed at least annually and updated as necessary to reflect changes in our business, supply chain, or regulatory requirements. We are committed to continuous improvement in the identification, prevention, and mitigation of modern slavery risks.
This statement has been approved by the leadership of Storage Kingsbury and constitutes our Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement for the relevant financial year.
